Mercedes OM441 Technical Data
These OM 441 series third generation motors were release in the late 1980's and included larger volume along with turbocharged and intercooler features in the OM441 A and LA variants.
These
OM44X series engines were initially released from 1989 to 1992 as two
variants:
- OM441 Naturally aspirated V6 engine which yielded approximately 224 hp
- OM442 Naturally aspirated V8 engine which yielded 290 hp
These new generation OM441 engines offered cast iron blocks making them popular in harsh hot desert climates due to large displacements and low operating temperatures.
The Mercedes Benz popular OM441 series engines share many similar components with previous series which date as far back to the very early Mercedes Benz OM401 and 402 diesel engines.

The later variants (Released from 1992 to 1998) were classed as EURO 1 Emission standard engines.
OM 441 A
The OM441A Four-stroke diesel engine manufactured by Mercedes-Benz has a volume of 10,965 cubic centimeters (657 cubic inches). This is the third generation of V6-diesel engines from Mercedes and generates 200 kW (269 hp). They are designed with consideration of Euro II environmental norms. OM 441A has been widely used since the early 1990s in road engineering and average tonnage trucks. OM 441A is also used in combine harvesters, including combine harvesters CLAAS Dominator 118 SL MAXI.
OM 441 LA
OM441 LA Single Turbo V6 engine which yielded 220 hp and up to 340 hp when fitted with an intercooler.
