The Mercedes OM926LA Diesel Engine is a in-line six-cylinder EUROMOT 3A engine with a displacement of 7.2 l and output of 240 kW (326 hp) with torque of 1300 Nm. The OM926 LA D926.929 was given its world premiere in 2001 at the Munich trade fair for the construction industry.
The OM 926 LA set new standards in terms of power delivery and economy. Based on the OM 906 LA in-line six-cylinder engine, it offered increased volume with compact dimensions and a low weight of 530 kg.
The OM 926 LA provided innovative and field-proven technological features including unit pump line nozzle injection, electronic engine management and multiple valves per cylinder that made it a power source suitable for universal use. A compressed natural gas variant OM926 (CNG) was also produced.
