M199 Engine Technical Data

The M199 was a significantly detuned variant of the petrol 2996cc M186 that was used in the W188 300 Sc of 1955 to 1958. This revised SOHC Inline 6-Cylinder 300 Sc M199 variant made its debut in September 1955 and was fitted with Bosch direct fuel injection replacing the carburetors which raised engine output to 129 kW (175 hp) at 5,400rpm.
