OM906LA Engine Technical Data
The Mercedes OM906 series of compact six-cylinder engines were intended for use in the off-highway sector for construction plant, crane and special-purpose machines.
The OM 906 LA inline-six offered a displacement of 6,374 cc and power
range between 170 kW (228 hp) to 205 kW (279 hp) with 810 Nm (597 lb-ft)
to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) of torque. Both variants had Unit-Pump System
technology with single-plunger fuel-injection pumps and centrally arranged
6-hole injection nozzles.
The most powerful version of the OM 906 LA achieves a remarkably high
torque of 1100 Nm, which is available across a broad range from 1200-1600/min.
A variant of the OM 906 LA in-line six-cylinder engine is also available
for horizontal installation under the designation OM 906 hLA, making
it a very versatile application motor.
