Mercedes M100 Petrol Engine Manuals
The Mercedes-Benz M100 V8 Petrol motor was produced between 1963 and 1981. It was first used in the Mercedes W100 Series, Type 600 Pullman beginning in 1963, and from 1968 onward it became a power-plant in the Mercedes-Benz W109 300SEL 6.3. In 1975 the bore was increased changing it from a 6.3 L to 6.9 L for implanting into Mercedes W116 450SEL 6.9 models through 1980.

The 6.3 L power plant was conservatively rated at 250 PS (246.5 HP), with 503 Nm (371 lb-ft) of torque helping compensate for the high-speed cruising 2.65 to 1 final drive ratio.

The 6.9 L European engine produced 286 PS (282 HP) with 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. The North American version introduced in 1977, was less powerful at 250 PS (184 kW) and 488 Nm (360 lbft) of torque due to stringent emissions control requirements.
