Type 600 (W100) 1963-1981 Production Models
The
Mercedes Benz W100 Series Type 600 Pullman sedan saloon and limousine
body styles were produced from 1963 to 1981. They included Chassis #’s
W100.012, W100.014, W100.015, W100.016, W100.017 with the M100 petrol
engine and K4B-050 4-speed automatic transmission.
The 6.3 Liter M100.980 engine put out 250 hp with 368 lbft of torque pushing the two and a half ton 600 to a a top speed of over 127 mph and accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 10 seconds.
The
W100 600 replaced the Mercedes-Benz W189 limousine
and was available in two wheelbase lengths of 3,200 millimeters (126
inches) and 3,900 millimeters (153.5 inches). Overall length was 218
and 246 inches bumper to bumper.
The 600 Pullman came in several variants:
- 100.012 W100 600 4-door
- 100.014 W100 600 long 4-door
- 100.015 W100 600 Landaulet 4-door
- 100.016 W100 600 long 6-door
- 100.017 W100 600 Landaulet 6-door
The model 600 production totaled 2,677 vehicles (as shown in table below) in three base structures including, a short wheelbase 4-door saloon, a long wheelbase 4-door limousine and a 6-door limousine, with the last modification W100.017 6-Door Landaulet being introduced in May 1967.
