M270 Engine Technical Data
The M270 motor is the to the successor to the previous M266 and was succeeded itself by the M271 engine, appearing on the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 2017. It was introduced in September 2012 being in compliance with the EU6 emissions standard. The M270 engine has a transverse configuration for front-wheel drive vehicles and it is designed with 4 valves per cylinder with variable valve timing and a piston stroke up to 92 mm (3.62 in) with a 9.8:1 compression ratio..
