M115 Engine Technical Data

The M115 family was a straight-4 engine produced in several versions with differing volume, compression, and horse power  based on application.

In June of 1980, a new 2 liter fuel injected 2.3 liter version of the M115 engine (Type M102) was introduced as its replacement.

W123 Chassis M115 Engines

The Mercedes 123 Series was fitted with several versions of the M115 engine including the sedan, estate, and coupe models (230, 230T, and 230C, respectively) that delivered 80kW of power at 4,500rpm and 185Nm of torque at 3,000rpm. Post 1981, all three models got the M115 variant and successor (M102 engine).
