M114 Engine Technical Data

The M114s engine The M114 was a 2.5-liter six cylinder gasoline motor that was available both as a carburetor version, or with fuel injection. These versions were derived from the M108 and M129 engines respectively, from which they retain almost all the main features.

The two versions of the M114 engine are described below

M114V25 / M114.920

These two abbreviations indicate the M114 carburetor powered engine. This version was similar to the M108, only differing by timing phasing of the cam axles with higher torque and performance at low speeds. It was characterized by the following specifications:

  • Two carburetors Zenith 35/40 INAT
  • Compression ratio : 9: 1
  • Maximum power : 130 hp at 5400 rpm
  • Maximum torque : 199 Nm at 3600 rpm

  • Mercedes-Benz 250C W114 (1968-1972)

Mercedes M114 Carburetor and Fuel Injection Engines

M114E25 or M114.980

These two second version of the M114 were equipped with Bosch D-Jetronic electronic injection. This version was characterized by the following specifications:

  • Bosch D-Jetronic electronic fuel injection system
  • Compression ratio: 9.5: 1
  • Maximum power: 150 HP at 5500 rpm
  • Maximum torque: 211 Nm at 4500 rpm

  • Mercedes-Benz 250CE W114 (1968-72)
