M279 Engine Technical Data

The M279 twin-turbocharged V12 engine was released in 2012 with the R231 SL65 AMG. Features include a single overhead camshafts with 3 valves per cylinder, port injection, larger turbochargers, changes to the valvetrain timing, and a new exhaust system for improved efficiency and emissions.

This Mercedes-AMG twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 engine can be found in the S65 (coupe, cabriolet, and sedan), the SL65 roadster, and the monster G65 SUV, and makes 621 horsepower with 738 lb.ft of torque.
