M112 Engine Technical Data
The Mercedes-Benz M112 engine is a gasoline-fueled, 4-stroke, spark-ignition, internal-combustion V6 automobile engine used in the late 90's thru 2000s. Introduced in 1998, it was the first V6 engine ever built by Mercedes. It was followed by the related M113 V8
These M112 engines have an aluminum engine block with a 90° V6 orientation and silicon/aluminum lined cylinders. Features include aluminum SOHC cylinder heads with 3 valves per cylinder, forged steel connecting rods, a one-piece cast camshaft, iron-coated aluminum pistons, magnesium intake manifold and sequential fuel injection with two spark plugs per cylinder.
To deal with the vibration problems of a 90 degree V6, a balance shaft was installed in the engine block between the cylinder banks eliminating first and second order vibration problems. A Variable Length Intake Manifold is fitted to optimize engine flexibility.

The Supercharged Mercedes-AMG C32/SLK32 engine
The E 32 ML is a special version of the 3.2 L (3,199 cc), fitted with a helical twin-screw type supercharger and water-to-air intercooler. Output is 349 bhp at 6,100 rpm with 332 lb.ft of torque at 3,000-4,600 rpm. The compression ratio is 9.0:1.
