Mercedes Benz 450SLC 5.0 Liter
In September 1977 the 450 SLC 5.0 Liter Coupé joined the Mercedes Series 107 lineup. This model featured a new all-aluminum five-liter V8 engine, aluminum alloy bonnet and boot-lid, a black rubber rear spoiler, and a small front-lip spoiler. The 450SLC 5.0 was produced in order to participate in the 1978 World Rally Championship.
The C107 SLC had a successful rally career of which just 1,636 were the 450 SLC-5.0. The 350, 450 and 450 SLC 5.0 models were being discontinued thru 1980 to make way for the introduction of the 380 and 500 SLC models making their debut in March of 1980.
